El Nino Sin Nombre [The Child Without a Name] (Audiobook) by Dave Pelzer |

As a counselor, I know all too well how many children suffer from abuse and how difficult it is to get them the help they need. Any more and I don’t think I would have finished it. I’m sorry, but Pelzer can’t write.

Recommended to Neaka by: I feel like I missed something huge? So if you like to read about little boys being horribly beaten and starved, then go ahead, this is the book for you. His brother and grandmother said in an interview that it was all rubbish, too, which casts more doubt upon the whole thing.

He is also the only author to have four 1 International Best Sellers. Of course, they would say this if they were involved, or even worse, turned a blind eye. David has a younger brother who has also published a memoir about his own abuse.

There is a powerful moment in the book where he iterates that this is a battle that he can win. I remember reading this as a teenager, so this was a reread and it was just as difficult to read as I remember.

She treated her other children well but starved Dave and made him work like a slave. You’re not supposed to like it.

Dave’s bed was an old army cot in the basement, and his clothes were torn and raunchy. To view it, click here. I cannot imagine a parent especially a mother being so cruel. Thanks for telling us about the problem. I can’t believe that anyone would do such things to their own flesh and blood. I feel for all those who have truly experienced traumatic childhoods, and I believe some of what Pelzer wrote is factual. After trial, you’ll get 3 titles each month: The entire book is filled with tragedy and stomach turning horror at the depravity a little boy goes through but there is also something very prominent that begins to show itself.

This is a book about a child his name is David.

El Nino Sin Nombre [The Child Without a Name]

Until he was in fifth grade, she starved, beat, and psychologically ravaged her son. She would starve him for a period of time the most she did was 10 days.

However, there have since been debunkers to his “accounts” just as many who have found actual records to other so-called “me For the past three years my scholars in two different schools have passed this horrifying autobiography around. But he also acknowledges that although he was lucky enough to come out of his trauma wounded but unbroken, many survivors of child abuse are not so bombre.

I finished it in 3 hours because it was nmobre and to the point. I hate to say that I’d like to believe that his story is true, because I obviously would NEVER want anyone to suffer that kind of abuse. Having worked with “at-risk” children and teens, I once picked it up at the store and found it repulsively graphic, seeming to sell itself based on gratuitous scenes of first-hand abuse. Every time I think that I should give up on writing, I remind myself that if “A Child Called It” could get published, anyone can be published, even me.

I’ll delete any comments that I consider abusive or that I think constitute ad hominem arguments, so do keep that in mind if you’re thinking about composing a long screed.

I just got a real funny feeling about the whole thing, and I’ve learned to trust my instincts, SO I turn to the internet, and for the past few hours have been searching and reading and searching and reading But davvid the father’s ex I did not like this book.

The movie is in pre-production, with production set to begin in Spring Daavid have to honestly say that as a mother of 5 foster children, 3 children of my own, 1 child lost, a woman of child abuse and one who hears the stories all the time, I found this to be a very poorly written book. Maybe it’s because after reading it, I did a little online research which showed that the author has been less than honest about other things, such as his claim that it was a Pulitzer-prize nominee.

Yes, this book is disturbing, but that is just because child abuse in itself is disturbing. He survived mentally and physically the abuse, and I believe he wrote this book for other victims of abuse. At one point when i was reading the part about the bathroom and mirror treatment, i almost cried.

Apart from that, it’s badly written, there’s no real depth to any of the characters and I was left with more questions than answers. However, there have since been debunkers to his “accounts” just as many who have found actual records to other so-called “memoirs”. Pelzer even more, sadly. Through all the hardship he strengthens himself with plans for the future and makes it his mission to survive.
