Besides the poems, Burton also drew some lovely cartoons still, not appropriate for children I love Tim Burton’s movies for their beautiful cinematography and sense of macabre with a pinch of dark humor. It is also rather emotional, brings out such intense feelings.

Want to Read saving…. His illustrations add to the dark humor vhico his playful poems as well as to the intrinsic humanity of his characters, freaks and geeks who are actually–if you’ll permit the poor rhyme–beautiful creatures in spite of their ugly features.

This is a collection of very very short stories which are all written in verse and have an accompanying illustration or illustrations. Junk Girl was very meaningful.

There was a lot of sexual innuendo, more so than in his films, that did surprise me. Anchor babysimply tragic.

I traguca like I know him a little better for it, after reading this collection. Trust me, if you ever get the chance upon this book Dl Burton fans, you’re in for a real treat!

Dream till they let you. Roy the Toxic Boy, how ironic. His poetry is right up my alley, just like the stories of Edward Gorey who is known to have influenced Burton. The above is a pretty good example of what’s in this book Reading this tiny tome was sort of like taking a prolonged vacation on The Island of Really, Really Misfit Toys. Which is not to say they’re bad; they just look like Edward Gorey work.

It’s damned creepy, freaking depressing, laugh out loud funny, and utterly awesome. Yes, this book is not available anywhere in Bulgaria.
